NORTHWICK
PARK 9-HOLE

Play through 9 signature holes from Major Championship venues, including the Postage Stamp at Royal Troon; Augusta’s beautiful but treacherous 12th and 16th holes; the Belfry’s challenging par four 9th and the Royal
Birkdale’s classic short 12th.

HOLE BY HOLE

1st Riviera Country Club 6th

Just like the 6th hole at the renowned Riviera C.C. its all about the club selection, as the green has the signature bunker in the middle of the green.

2nd Ganton G.C. 11TH

This is a cracking par 4. Care is needed off the tee as trouble awaits down the left-hand side with a tricky pot bunker which is surrounded by gorse. Be brave for your second shot and you could be rewarded by a well-deserved birdie.

3RD  Oakland Hills 3rd

This hole plays into a prevailing wind so take 1 more club for safety. The green is wonderfully protected by bunkers so go for the large part of the green with slight draw.

4TH  The Belfry 9th

A challenging par 4 which evokes memories of the Ryder cup. Hit down the left-hand side of the fairway for the best possible approach to the large green but beware of the bunker short right.

5th Royal Birkdale 12th

This is a small green protected by bunkers and a slope at the front that will roll the ball back towards you club selection is key

6th Royal Troon 8th “the Postage Stamp”

A short par 3 full of danger from the tee with a large mound covered by thick grass and a slope to the left which will take your ball away into trouble.

7TH  Augusta National 12th

They talk of “The curse of the 12th “during The  Master’s week, as this hole is a destroyer of many a good score. The best advice is to take plenty of club and aim for the centre of the green, do that and you will always be safe

8th Walton Heath Old course 17th

The hole is legendary in the part it played in the Ryder Cup in 1981. A deep bunker left with lots of heather waiting to engulf you ball surrounding the green. The green offers a small target and it’s a tough test, Aim for r the back of the green avoiding the trouble.

9th Augusta National 16th

During the 2005 masters Tiger woods chipped in the hole here. It was arguably one of the greatest shots in golf.  Be sure to take enough club to avoid the water and always play safe by aiming for the largest part of the green
